Hello everyone,

For August and September this year I was conducting a needs assessment in Okurase village in the Eastern Region. I formed some lovely relationships with the people of the village, and I find that I cannot forget the level of need I found there. I don't have any silver bullet remedies for the myriad problems the people of the village face, but I was hoping that we could help in one way. Quite a number of my friends don't have cell phones. Now I know that having a cellphone would not solve any major problems (as yet), but I thought that it would useful to stay in touch with some of the people who are forward thinking, and who are prepared to work hard to change this lovely village.

So, I was wondering if any of you have old cellphones that you wouldn't mind donating to people in Okurase. The phones from the US are a little hard to unlock, but I found out that they CAN be unlocked. Therefore, if you are so inclined, please respond to this email and let me know if you'd like me to come pick up the phone or if you can mail them to me, and I'll provide you with an address. If you don't have a phone but can donate $10 to get one unlocked, that would be great.
