What is it about that book

What is it about that book that kept you up all night? What about the one that sparked a huge debate in class? Whatever it is, this is the place to talk about literary related issues. Bring it on y'all!

Er... please forgive "The Lion" ... some people consider a literary and rhythmic great...

Books? I've been reading one

Books? I've been reading one for almost a year and am still not done.
But this is still a section for me.
Are we allowed to post our 'original' literary content?
Yes, it was a rhetorical question.

The destiny of a nation at any given time depends on the opinions (and actions) of its young men and women.

TO THE TURKEY: :A Nursery

TO THE TURKEY: :A Nursery Rhyme by P E Adote Addo

I sometimes wonder, and at times I ponder
If there are two kinds of birds, of the same feather; that is
Those you see in the supermarket
And those you don't.

Those that fly in the sky
The others don't fly
But grow heavy breasted, short legged and drum my thighs
And a meaty neck besides

To some a total goofy gobbler
The other grown wild and sometimes weary
In mountain, plain, and forest
To the point of being a genius.

''TELL FREEDOM''

This book by Peter Abrahams gave me a vivid insight into the apartheid era in South Africa and i always used to wonder if there was ever going to be change.
It now acts as a historical manuscript for me as i take a look at the new South Africa. And i enjoy comparing and contrasting the lives of people then and their lives now.

THE CRINGE FACTOR! WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT GOD MADE THREE WORLDS AND THAT I COME FROM THE THIRD WORLD. THE ISSUE OF RACE IS GEOGRAPHICAL AND NOT A STATUS SYMBOL AND NEITHER IS MY SKIN BLACK NOR YOURS WHITE.

The African Hamattan

The African Hamattan..By Rev P E Adotey Addo

Those dust particles that blow in
From the north covers everything in sight.
The African Hamattan.
Making it hot and hazy in a blazing heat
To make us cough and cold at night.
The African Hammatan.
With cracked chapped lips
Scaly skin and such
The African Hamattan.
Ushering in hay fever and other ills
Dry sand in the eyes against the will
To make itchy watery eyes .
It takes real courage
To face the African Hammattan.

The African Harmattan..By

The African Harmattan..By Rev Peter Addo

Those dust particles that blow in
From the north covering everything in site.
The windy African Harmattan.
To make it hot and hazy by day
And cold in the night to all
Bringing in all the sand in the dessert.
With no help from any prescriptions
Making it hot and hazy in the blazing heat
So we cough and cough with cracked lips.
The uncomfortable African Harmattan.
At least the hay fever and other ills
Soon depart as they have arrived
Making way for the end of the year
Leaving behind for all
Dry bodies and skins
Watery eyes and such.
It takes real courage to
To face the African Harmattan.

The First Day In The Second Grade: By Rev P. E .Adotey Addo

A HAPPY DAY FOR MALIK: By Grandpa Peter Addo

WHAT A HAPPY DAY FOR YOU

YOU ARE NOW IN THE SECOND GRADE.

I REMEMBER NOT LONG AGO,

WHEN YOU WERE IN THE FIRST GRADE.

BUT NOW YOUR BROTHER MILES IS WITH YOU

SO MALIK YOU ARE NOT ALONE .

ON THE BUS AND IN YOUR SCHOOL

YOU AND YOUR BROTHER .

REMEMBER AT HOME WHEN YOU PLAY

YOU PLAY FAIRLY EVERYDAY

AND SHARE AND SHARE

AND ALSO PUT THINGS BACK.

SO TRY NOT TO HIT EACH OTHER .

AND PUT THINGS BACK

WHERE THEY SHOULD BE.

JUST AS YOUR PARENTS MAKE YOU DO.

ENJOY YOUR NEW GRADE AND HAVE FUN

AS YOU LEARN NEW THINGS IN SECOND GRADE.

AND TAKE ONLY THINGS THAT BELONG TO YOU.

AND ALWAYS SHARE, AND ALWAYS SHARE

SO MUCH I WANT TO SAY ,

BUT REMEMBER THIS MALIK,

DO NOT GET ANGRY AND DO NOT HIT ANY ONE

WE LOVE YOU , ALL OF US ,WE LOVE YOU.
