Friends.. by Peter Addo .Jan 2010
People need each other
to fulfill each other .
People feel good knowing
That In loneliness
Friends have the power
To share and heal .
When in hunger and sickness
Friends have the power to feel
Your sadness and your joy
And most times
Friends are all the family
You wake up to to find you have .

The Ancestors Have Much To teach Us.
By P E Adotey Addo, Dec 27 2008
We are often haunted by the unknowns
If the ancestors inhabit the living or the dead.
So we try to appease their souls as a way of life
Keeping them in everyday activities and places
To become part of the living community,
For they do have much to say to us
As they judge between the living and the dead.
Traditions never forget the ancestors
In both societal life , history and beliefs.
Frightening and exciting us at the same time.
Indeed the ancestors have a lot to teach us
The violence that rocked the world
Reached horrific levels resulting everywhere
With loss of children, women, and men for days
Burned in a church as they were seeking sanctuary
And sanctuary was denied
In flames by mobs infuriated by votes.
The innocent victims faced their rage
Seeking help from locked doors and homes ending
As charred bodies and trash in the once silent streets
No water from kinfolks and no food from neighbors
With nothing gained to be sure.
Only we can save ourselves from this rage
Dedicated to those who lost their lives in the post Election Riots, Jan .2008
Stress and anxiety
Seasonal affective disorder
All brought on by Darkness
Thinking of the many hassles
In finding effective therapy
In a complex world.
The need for light is critical
To match the patient
With the right village
Providing an alternate approach,
For an emotional well-being
Talking To The Doctor
(When the Patient Is An elderly relative)
Uncle George was over eighty-years old World War II veteran
Intelligent, fluent in several languages and urbane
While he entertained patrons at his bar with his humor and wit.
In spite of age, still independent to a fault and loving it.
Concerns as to his health and medications
Prescribed by his beloved doctor were shared
By concerned relatives as tradition dictated.
Providing comfort for body, mind and soul
